And if Trump was edged out by Hillary, the same would have been said of Trump supporters.

When it looked like Perot might have a shot, the Deep State/MSM went into full assault mode. Perot could not handle it.

Yet Trump went through far, far worse and kept on swinging. The Hollywood Access tape alone would have been enough to knock any other human out of a presidential race.

We are so lucky that Trump decided to run. But I remember during the primaries, many here insisted that we were wasting our vote on Trump and only helping to ensure that Hillary won.

In fact, most people here thought that Trump was in cahoots with Hillary, just like they thought Perot was in cahoots with Bill Clinton.

Just goes to show that all the keyboard commandos around here really don't know much.

In retrospect, Perot 'could have been' an early version of Trump. But rather than fight against one party or the other, he choose to fight as a third party. That is a loser strategy.

By going third party, he did what Hillary accuses Tulsi of today, trying to split a party to weaken it (you can debate about which party gets hurt most).

Perot is gone now, so its hard to hear from him why he did what he did. At the time, I would have preferred GHWB over Clintoon, and I felt like Perot voters were just trying to disrupt the system. Was he really the early version of Trump or a Trojan horse?

In any case, Trump either learned from Perot or on his own that he needed to pick a party and claim it if he really wanted to win. And Trump succeeded, God bless him.
