Genuine Smithfield hams [are those] cut from the carcasses of peanut-fed hogs, raised in the peanut-belt of the Commonwealth of Virginia or the State of North Carolina, and which are cured, treated, smoked, and processed in the town of Smithfield, in the Commonwealth of Virginia. None are imported from China.

I lived in the town of Smithfield, VA. Trust me, those hogs weren't sent from China. They rolled down Route 10 daily on big, smelly trucks.I was putting diesel in my car one day and thought to myself "this is the most disgusting smell in the world. About 2 minutes later a fully laden hog truck pulled in for fuel or something. I changed my mind FOREVER of WHAT WAS THE SMELLIEST THING IN THE WORLD. NO JOKE 🐖!

Yes, the hogs are not imported from China.

The issue is who owns Smithfield Foods.

Then known as Shuanghui Group, WH Group purchased Smithfield Foods in 2013 for $4.72 billion, more than its market value. It was the largest Chinese acquisition of an American company to date.

The Communist Chinese lobbied Congress and the FDA to eliminate country -of-origin information on foods, as I recall

“None are imported from China.”

I assume that goes for their seasoned pork loins. We don’t eat pork often, but I love to cook those in a crock pot. Easy, delicious meal.
