President Trump said Thursday he may read the transcript of his July 25 telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky aloud to Americans in the style of the famous fireside chats delivered by President Franklin Roosevelt during the 1930s and 1940s.
“This is over a phone call that is a good call,” Trump said in an interview with the Washington Examiner. "At some point, I’m going to sit down, perhaps as a fireside chat on live television, and I will read the transcript of the call, because people have to hear it. When you read it, it’s a straight call.”
Roosevelt delivered a series of informal radio addresses, dubbed fireside chats, meant to garner support for his New Deal policies and update Americans on the course of World War II, among other issues.

i’ve been hoping for weeks that President Trump would do exctly that!
Maybe he should do it on Thanksgiving, after the Detroit football game
Then afterwards start ripping this impeachment scam and the fake news like CNN. Then the CNN hosts like Don Lemon start getting uncomfortable and have to go to commercial.

If it helps him, they won’t do it.
One idea perhaps would be if he was at a big meeting with heads of state and made a speech about the meeting, and in the middle of the speech he read the transcript. I don’t think the networks would cut him off then.
I don’t know. It’s a difficult thing to do.
Yes! He has a traditional bully pulpit if he chooses to use it. Make an evening address, maybe over Thanksgiving weekend, read the interview, out the Democrats, maybe reprise The Snake.
