As House Democrats seek to progress their efforts Thursday to impeach President Donald Trump, CNN is speculating whether one unintended consequence could see Vice President Mike Pence also sidelined, leaving the way clear for Nancy Pelosi to take the reins of office. The fantasy outcome is contained in an opinion piece by Paul Callan, a contributor and CNN legal analyst.
He speculates Trump and Pence could possibly both be drawn into the Ukraine inquiry, leaving the way clear under constitutional law for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to ascend the White House steps as Commander-in-Chief. He writes:

The Democrat know that is the one thing they cannot do. The voters would revolt and overwhelming elect the GOP candidate in 2020 if they made Pelosi president. They’re not even too sure they want to go ahead with impeachment, and it’s looking more and more like they’ll chicken out.

If that scenario played out in my wildest nightmare I would wake up screaming and not sleep for a week.

If they want to fantasize, fantasize big. Because the Speaker of the House doesn’t have to be a member of the House, how about just before impeaching Trump and Pence, the House name Hillary Clinton as the Speaker? Then in their feeble little minds, they can get “justice” for the “stolen” election of 2016.
This is a good example of why the current presidential succession law stinks. It gives a crooked Speaker an incentive to get rid of the President and Vice President.
They should go back to the old way: Vice President, then cabinet positions by date of establishment. Congress is a separate branch of government. Leave them out of it.
If they successfully use this fake issue to remove the President and VP then we are officially living in a post-constitutional world and I don't want to hear about what Nancy Pelosi is entitled to under the document she just shredded in a secret trial. All bets are off at that point.

What will their fantasy be when it’s President Pence in 2025 & 2029 with his VP Candace Owens. Then President Candace Owens in 2033 & 2037 as the first female, and first African AMERICAN President.
It’s funny how they think a complete overthrow of our government would be tolerated at all.
