Hey, I didn't exclude the possibility that he was allowed to commit suicide. But the idea that he either tried to commit suicide a few weeks earlier, then was murdered, or that someone tried to murder him once, failed, and he said nothing until they came back and finished the job doesn't make sense.
People keep bringing up Occam's Razor but it's Hanlon's Razor that seems to fit the facts: Never attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity.
