Our companies donate to politicians for self-preservation or to buy an advantage.
No politician wants corporate money out of politics. They just want to change how the public sees that money.
The Biden crimes in Ukraine and elsewhere demonstrate how you can skirt taxes with hires of family/friends of politicians. Not only does this retain the money in the pockets of the politicians, but now they have influence over those companies and can steer their social conduct.
We see this in the abuse of civil rights legislation.
It doesn’t matter if you’re free to pray to your God in church per your beliefs but can’t refuse service you consider blasphemy.
It doesn’t matter if you are allowed to believe X if it is criminal to seek medical treatment that reflects your beliefs, such as taking a molested child to a counselor to eliminate unwanted same sex attraction. Or if the doctor is forced to perform abortions and euthanasia to be allowed to remain a doctor.
It doesn’t matter if you have freedom of belief if you can’t discuss your beliefs with others and books that help you do so are banned by ecommerce companies. (Amazon banned books the alphabet mafia doesn’t like.)
