Trump economy surges and Biden and Obama hog the credit
Washington Times ^ | 10/28/2019 | Stephen Moore

Posted on 10/28/2019 8:16:46 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Joe Biden is at it again — living in his own parallel universe. The same former vice president who says that his son, Hunter, was hired by the Ukrainian oil and gas company because of his expertise in energy policy is now claiming that President Trump has “squandered” the strong Obama economy he inherited.

Here is how Mr. Biden put it in a speech last week in Scranton, Pennsylvania: “Donald Trump inherited a strong economy from Barack and me.” Then he added: “Things were beginning to really move. And just like everything else he’s inherited, he’s in the midst of squandering it.”

What’s next? Jimmy Carter taking credit for the Reagan boom?

This is the continuing history rewrite of the left to explain the booming economy in the third year of Mr. Trump’s presidency. Today we are at or below record levels of unemployment, inflation and interest rates in half-a-century. Wages and salaries are rising at their fastest clip in at least two decades. There are an all-time high 7 million unfilled jobs in the United States.

The Washington Post is freaking out about the continued good news on the economy — and especially the latest data — that I reported on these pages two weeks ago that median household income is up by $5,003 since Mr. Trump became president. This was based on Census data, but The Post ranted last week that Donald Trump continues to “inflate his own numbers.” Nearly every assertion in the article was wrong or twisted — and Mr. Trump was right.

What is especially rich in the claims by The Washington Post and Joe Biden and others that Mr. Trump’s success is just a continuation of the Obama economy is that this time three years ago these same Trump haters promised that a Trump presidency would cause a “global financial calamity” and even a “second Great Depression.” The stock market would “never” recover from Mr. Trump’s election, Paul Krugman of The New York Times assured us.

But yet these two clowns blamed Bush for the bad state of the economy when they were in office.

Well said. The prospect of a Trump presidency was supposed to signal the return of the Great Depression, according to those Democrats back then.

It’s laughable that the liberal view, is that the current economic boom, is due to a continuation of policies implemented by Obama.

They would have us believe that Obama presided over economic stagnation for eight years, but had planted the seeds of economic growth, which would sprout only after he left office. Do they really believe that pile they are spewing to us?

The sad thing about this is that probably 45% of the American voters believe what Biden said.

The same people that think Bagdadi was a religious figure who was treated poorly.

So which crippling road blocks, fees, taxes, and mountains of regulations inspired people to invest their blood sweat and tears into a business? (Unless you had connections or were rich enough to have your own lobbyists? And remember, lobbyists main job is not to get regulations favorable to oneself as that would appear corrupt. The main goal of lobbyists is to get regulations that may cause a slight loss to you but would be utterly crushing to a potential competitor

Joe realizes that 2016 turned on PA, WI, and MI. He needs to campaign in CA and NY for $, and spend it in the battleground states.

I wouldn't count Joe out yet.

I hope that Biden wins the nomination from his party, and keeps on claiming that he and Obama deserve the credit for our booming economy and record high employment.

He is a jester like Baghdad Bob claiming that they were winning, and Al Gore saying that he invented the Internet. Go Joe! Get Schiff for your running mate (or Al Gore)!

“Do they really believe that pile they are spewing to us?”

The propaganda they put out, and what they truly believe aren’t the same thing. Sort of like asking, “Did Joseph Goebbels really believe the Jews were being sent to a safe area for protection.”

In a really crappy way they are responsible for the "increase" as they totally tanked our economy when they ran it!

Awesome campaign theme, elect us and we'll make the admin after us look awesome!

Pretty amazing...it only took eight years for the Obama / Biden economy to get traction after they left office.

Those guys are stone cold geniuses...

Has there been ANY reporting on Biden's 60 Minutes appearance last night?

Even the Google links to CBS "Highlights" don't work.

Data are your friend.

Not sure where TPPF got that data. I can't find the original graphic on their website but it doesn't match what the Bureau is reporting now.

The overall message is about the same but the numbers aren't.

Joe Biden wouldn’t know the truth if it bit him in the butt, and he wouldn’t speak it, if he knew it. I’ve SO had it with the lies. And of course, what’s worse than the lies, is that the msm will repeat them as gospel and the dems will believe them.
