Boris has done everything he could. Sadly he couldn’t stop Parliament passing a law to legally require the government to request an extension.
There is only so much he can do with this vexatious parliament, and the FTPA means he can’t call an election without the consent of the opposition.
He was forced to send a letter, but he didn’t sign it as a form of protest.
