A baseball bat-wielding man tried to break into the home of Philadelphia Eagles’ Fletcher Cox’s last week — but the hulking defensive tackle scared him off with a shotgun, according to a new report.

Corbyn Nyemah was allegedly looking for his his ex-girlfriend at Cox’s Mullica Hill mansion, which Nyemah tried to enter by throwing rocks through the front door after midnight on Oct. 15, according to court papers obtained by 6ABC Action News.

The home’s surveillance cameras showed Nyemah stalking the property with a baseball bat in hand and trying to enter the garage multiple times, the network reported.

"Cox, who was home at the time, grabbed a shotgun and called police — prompting Nyemah to take off in a Porsche SUV and lead cops on a chase that ended at the Commodore Barry Bridge."

Happy ending. When seconds count, the cops are minutes away.

Did he use the shotgun that Carson Wentz bought for everyone?

Been thinking about being in the same situation. If u shoot someone just make sure it’s INSIDE the house-right? Problem is you’ll have to move. Then how do you sell it? Has to be disclosed if someone died there. Ghosts.

Haha. Since Cox plays defense I would assume he had his own shotgun. Not sure I would use a Beretta like that for home defense anyway!

Home invasion must be a lucrative business to be using a Porsche SUV as a getaway car!

The perp was looking for his ex-girlfriend, who was in Cox’s house. So while this was a burglary, the motive was domestic in nature. Which makes it more dangerous than someone just looking for property, IMHO.

Nothing says “Go away” like the sound of a shell being racked into a pump-action shotgun.

It takes a special kind of moron to break into an NFL lineman’s home. That will never end well. Guaranteed.

Like SloJoe says...If somebody you don’t know is at the door then just blast them with the 12 gauge.

Or something like that.

Except maybe a 6’4” 300 pound NFL lineman. Shouldn’t need to hear any shells being chambered to think about getting away from physical conflict with that.

The guy has to have mental issues. He thought he and his ex were getting back together so he broke into Cox’s home to see her. Yikes.

Yeah, the shotgun had a lot more to do with the criminal taking off than calling the police did.

A shotgun is a great home defense weapon, if you can handle it.

On the other hand, if you are a small-framed women (my wife), who also has small hands (9mm handgun too much), what is a better solution?

An AR-15, of course.

Biden would have shot the gun towards the front door without opening it.

Has to be that. I met John Matuszak at a public appearance when he played with the Raiders. I remember the pen disappearing in his huge hand when he signed an autograph for me. These NFL guys are huge. Man mountains. Not home invasion targets at all.

Kids have been arrested and expelled from school for less than what Biden just did.
