Why no Senate hearings on Ukraine issues? Why are Mitch and Lindsey leaving the work to Schiff?

They say they’re waiting for the Horowitz report to come “

That’s no excuse for allowing Schiff to conduct a star chamber proceeding, based on a shadowy whistle blower. The secretiveness could be ended immediately through open senate hearings - including calling the whistleblower

If Lindsey and Mitch don’t do that, they’re aiding and abetting Schiff

They keep pushing the subpoena angel too. If there is no legit inquiry they can only send demand letters which can be ignored. What a friggin’ circus. Just think if they actually did the peoples work instead of this crap.

Their “republican” mindset can only consider tactics of prudence, caution and patience...all descending from their highest priority being self preservation - at all cost.

Should really fear going into battle with such folks having one’s back. Until their own positions and livelihood are under attack, they will never ever fight. As predictable as rain in the North West.

Why would the Senate do that?

Yeah, why would the GOP controlled Senate want to shine a bright light on the Deep State coupists? Why would they want to ask the obviously coupist IC IG why the whistleblower regs were changed to accommodate this
latest seditious assault on the President of the United States? Makes no sense at all. Much better for the GOP to let Schiff and the House Dems control the narrative and selectively leak lies. /s

This may not be a popular opinion here, but for now I’d say the Senate should stay silent about this whole charade. For one thing, you don’t want to give it any legitimacy. Secondly, you’d much rather wait until there’s something that you can respond to effectively rather than flailing away at empty air in silly committee hearings that hardly anyone will watch anyway.

The House and the Senate are two separate houses of Congress, and it's not their job to deal with each other directly.

Republicans in the House -- to the extent they have any power at all -- are the ones who should be waging this battle right now.

Excuse me, but the House is speeding toward IMPEACHING Donald Trump, and you say the Senate should wait until that impeachment has happened and Trumps name has been blackened in the history books for all time?

BS. The Senate Republicans should should expose this charade NOW , before the House Dems are able to get the impeachment on the books

Also, the secretive star chamber tactics - soviet tactics - should be opposed NIW with open senate hearings (including of the whistleblower) to show that we don’t put up with soviet secret trials in America

What can the Senate do by wasting their own time following every train the house goofs create???

They have nothing else to do because the House isn't doing anything but trashing the President. Of course that is probably a good thing because the usually get their clock cleaned by Nancy anyway.

So you think the senate republicans should stand by and let trump be impeached - a disgrace that’s happened to only 2 other presidents - based on a soviet style secret prosecution?

Wow, that Republican “gentlemanly loser” mindset is still way too common among conservatives. I’ll bet if it was somebody in your ownbfamily being railroaded this way you wouldnt be so inclined to stand back politely and let the corrupt officials work through the process

Nice response. YOu did what the worthless all rino weasel repubs refuse to do—put this KGB inquiry in terms that people relate to. My family being railroaded? Never. Hello no!

That is how we all should be reacting now. Approaching riots in the streets to counter this threat to our democracy. It will happen, I do not know the hour or day but people are getting more than perturbed.

Were Trump to be removed, thanks to a worthless Repub in name only Senate—a disaster would befall this nation. May it not come to that end.

Baloney.

Having the Senate try to head off impeachment right now is like having a judge shut down an investigation in a prosecutor's office before a case even gets into his court room.

I’ll bet if it was somebody in your ownbfamily being railroaded this way you wouldnt be so inclined to stand back politely and let the corrupt officials work through the process.

If it was someone in my own family I sure wouldn't rely on a couple of dopes like Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell to save me. And I sure as hell wouldn't be a "gentleman" about it, either.

And I'll tell you what: If President Trump needs their help right now, then he may as well resign. I voted for him because I knew he was perfectly capable of standing up against the whole Beltway establishment on his own. He's doing just fine.

The US government has already been overthrown and most of those in DC are part of it. Now they’re trying to hornswoggle the American people in to believing they are innocent of committing treason.

P.S. -- THIS is why we are better off with the Senate doing absolutely nothing right now:

Trump expands base, beating Biden, Sanders, Buttigieg, tied with Warren

Here's the key point:

Despite shrinking approval ratings, President Trump has expanded his base to include union workers, Hispanics, suburban and urban voters, and is ahead or tied with all the leading Democratic presidential candidates, according to a new national survey.

Look at the breakdown of those groups there. Most of them -- including union workers, Hispanics and urban voters -- wouldn't vote for Lindsey Graham or Mitch McConnell at gunpoint.

The less we hear from Graham and McConnell, the better off Trump is in 2020.

Only one answer. Linda knows that this will eventually reach to his dead corpse pal McTurd.

NEVER going to happen. Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles can see that!

This is a political battle. The court is public opinion. No reason to let the coupist House Dems and their media allies set the narrative in the lead up to 2020.
