The Justice Department's investigation into the origins of the Russia election interference probe keeps getting unwanted assists from the White House, raising questions of how the department will be able to defend the legitimacy of any of its eventual findings.
From the start, the probe has been driven by Attorney General William Barr's suspicions -- critics call them conspiracy theories -- that some of the officials overseeing the counterintelligence investigation of the 2016 Trump campaign may have acted improperly. His embrace of these theories aligns with President Donald Trump's chief grievance that he was the victim of a "deep state" spy operation that has clouded his presidency. And some steps taken already point to the investigation being anything but a typical law enforcement inquiry.

The whole "Russia collusion" investigation was based on nothing more than lies, political scare-mongering, and evidence that would get laughed out of a municipal traffic court.
And CNN has the nerve to question the legitimacy of this investigation?
LMAO.
"Democracy dies at CNN."
I've read the book .... I know how it ends
But a LOT of unnecessary trouble is caused in between times
The most frustrating part of watching the entire Russia Witch Hunt and Inquisition unfold is knowing that regardless of how many crimes and rights violations against Trump and his associates that finally get prosecuted, nobody in the MSM mob like CNN will ever pay a real price for being co-conspirators. They will just peddle more disinformation and smears and move on to their next hoax.
I think what Barr and Durham are doing needs to be separated from what Horowitz is up to. Im doubtful that well see calls for charges from Horowitz. He had his chance several times already, and he took the idiot route. Im sure the invisible rule of intent will cloud his judgement.
Yeah, facts are so tainted by those who finds them by legal means...
a fact is a fact
CNN = modern day institution populated by people with mental deficiencies
You ain’t paranoid if they really ARE picking on you....
And up to now, everything keeps pointing to a concerted and coordinated attack on just about every aspect of the Trump Presidency.
Even down to his son Barron.
And some steps taken already point to the investigation being anything but a typical law enforcement inquiry.
And why not? It was not a typical crime.
Double Fake News.
No, and Barr must stand tall. Otherwise the deep state swamp will lynch Trump. No recusal, ever!
No, go away.
Building a false narrative they will use to discount the findings when they are made public.
Well, ya gotta give them credit. Theyre trying hard. Actually, I think they’re more than a little worried, because they know Barr is going to turn up some serious malfeasance.
Seems a more relevant question to ask would if Schiff has tainted the impeachment inquiry...
CORRECTION: They're more than a little worried because they were part of the malfeasance.
CNN’s bias would be laughable, except that in 2015/2016 they reported that the White House and Clintons’ corrupt connections to AG Loreta Lynch and Deputy FBI Director McCabe tainted the Hillary Secret Server whitewash. Oh, wait, they didn’t...
“CNN is basically Zucker thinking out-loud.”
Nice. Send that to the Trump team. Trump might use it on the campaign trail.
I read the CNN article. The poor writing is a signal that CNN does not expect many readers. For example,
“Justice Department officials have bristled at recent events that threaten to taint the investigation being led by John Durham, a respected Connecticut federal prosecutor who established a temporary office in Washington to conduct the probe.”
Confusing paragraph.
No officials are identified.
No prosecutor is identified.
The sentence lacks a verb at the end.
Emotion language is used: “threaten”, “taint”, and “probe.”
Always the rhetorical questions from these jokers.
I was wondering when this would drop, this is when you know they are really going nervous.
