$2.6 billion per windy event. It is windy most days. Imagine 10 events or 20 events.

I bet PG&E are not going to black out large areas anymore.
Maybe even add cut off switches in more places.

We’ve got something called an “Intellirupter” installed in our distribution network (grid) since February of this year ... allows the distribution network to be re-configured from the central NOC, and even during the occurrence of a fault they communicate among themselves to isolate the fault. Comms are via 900 MHz and an antenna located above the main switch/breaker/disconnect hardware.
