Heads up GOM coastal dwellers...

Mexico Beach here...Just breezy now and cool. Actually we really need the rain so a small storm will not hurt anything that not already destroyed.

Nestor?
NESTOR? They're really scraping the bottom of the barrel. The only other time I ever heard the name 'Nestor' mentioned was the Earl Holliman role in the film The Bridges at Toko-Ri.
To: NautiNurse
I am well inland nearly up to the Alabama line.
We really do need the rain. Just as long as it doesn’t turn into another hurricane.

Yep. Stiting here in East Central, where it's mostly cloudy and in the 60's. Just expecting a couple of inches of rain tonight/tomorrow, and some stiff breezes. The only worry is that enough rain and wind will hit with just the right timing to bring down a few weak trees, we've been so parched the last few months. NWS Peachtree City just issued a wind advisory that looks to stop right at the end of our driveway - literally. (NWS Birmingham issues watches and warnings after the event has passed, they're so lame.) No major crisis.

What the Hell kind of a name is Nestor?
I have literally never heard that name once in my entire life.

The media absolutely prays for the next apocalyptic storm to blame on Trump for the election season.

That would explain why I’ve never heard it then.
Thank you for that information.

Nestor was the wise old king from the Island of Pylos. This was in the Iliad.
There is some evidence that he was a real person.

‘Have you read the Iliad?’
yes...Nestor, king of Gerenia, long winded advice giver whether wanted or not...kind of like Joe biden...
To: yarddog
Okay, okay.
I’m getting some good education here today.
Thank for the information, name seems like it has merit as a storm name.

Nestor Chylak was one of the finest umpires ever to grace Major League Baseball and the baseball Hall of Fame. It’s true.
