Why don't the tech companies set up offices in India?

Why bring them here?

Why bring them here?

Imagine you were in upper management in a large corporation. Do you want to be able to walk down a row of cubes and look at what your employee is doing and have a quick 5 minute chat with him if you want the task done differently or if he’s doing it the wrong way......or do you want him sitting in an office in Bangalore such that with time differences you may be able to look at what he’s doing at most once per day?

Are you cool with giving up the direct control you have by having your employee right down the hall? At this point they will all scream “Hell no!!!!!!” This is one of the big problems with outsourcing. They tried that in the 90s. It didn’t work so well but they sure did love that cheap labor. So they started importing the cheap labor so they could have that and the direct control they lost by outsourcing.

It’s just Americans who get screwed here. Everybody else wins!

They have them in India.
Where do you think all the jobs went back in 2000-2002.
Whole cities sprang up with jobs stolen from HP, Intel and Cisco.

India wants the entire High Tech industry.
