Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and National Security Adviser Robert OBrien showed they know how to talk Turkey when they announced Thursday that theyve negotiated a five-day delay in the Turkish militarys advance into Kurdish-held territory in Syria along Turkeys border.
The U.S. officials met for nearly five hours with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara to reach the agreement. President Trump praised the deal, tweeting that This is a great day for civilization, after Pence announced the agreement.
The ceasefire is meant to give Kurdish forces time to make a peaceful, orderly withdrawal from the area, thereby establishing a buffer zone between them and the Turks.

GOP Senators arent the least embarrassed about turning on the President than waiting to withhold judgment and letting events sort themselves out.
Trump just took the steam out of their discontent over his Syria decision.

GOP Senators jumped at the chance to turn on the President and the House members need to be primaried, every one of them is up for re election in 12 months. The President is trying to survive a coup and the little weasels stabbed him in the back.

So the Turks achieve the goals that they had established the start of the offensive without having to fire another shot. Not surprising that they were on board with that agreement.
Democrats stood by Obama to the end. Republicans response is to desert the President when they get jelloed.
The President needs friends like them like he needs enemies.
