The actual outcome of this nonsense is that tech firms will not hire people from those stupid places.

China’s bridges fall over, their buildings collapse, and their trains run off the tracks.

The brand new bridge that failed in Florida a couple years back failed for the reasons you pointed out.

The worst teacher I ever had would fit into their plan quite nicely. She had favorites, spent all of class time acting cute and joking with her favorites, and taught us nothing.

Her favorites, of course, were the "popular" kids, especially cheer leaders, football players, and members of the school's unofficial but important-to-her sororities and fraternities.

She taught second year Latin. I learned nothing from her.

My first year Latin teacher--in sharp contrast--was excellent. She was very strict. One did not dare come to her class unprepared and not having completed home work. No one was allowed in class chewing gum or girls with their hair in curlers. No one dared chat in her class. You paid attention. You learned. She had no favorites. Everyone received fair and equal treatment. Consequently I Loved Latin. I can still conjugate the verbs, still know the declensions. When I got to medical school, anatomy was a snap because of my indelible knowledge of first year Latin. I loved this teacher. She's one of the best teachers I ever had. She taught me a lot more than Latin--including, though not limited to, fair treatment of everyone.

Imagine my disappointment when I got to second year Latin and realized that I had a teacher like the "educators" at Boise State University.

What a shame that the Boise State U. students can't have teachers like my first year Latin teacher. They deserve better than what they're getting.

I went back to college after thirty years for another course of study.

Shocked I was and dismayed at the level of ignorance, illiteracy and downright lack of discipline and respect in the student body.

One professor told the class he did not grade on the mechanics of writing or composition, but on the overall “thrust” of the paper.

Now, I understand how Michelle Obama could have written a thesis with an opening statement that read, “This thesis is about..” without having it tossed into a trashbin immediately.

You could save a lot of time and money by just requiring schools to mail a diploma/degree of choice to every applicant that ID’s as a minority, rather than an acceptance letter. Then follow up with a minority only graduation ceremony. No student debt, no time wasted in class, no need to politically condition professors, lots of credit for diversity in “graduation” rates. Win-win for all involved in the scam. Willie Brown, the notoriously openly corrupt former Speaker or the CA commissariat and SF mayor, had a similar proposal, namely to guarantee diplomas.

I don’t wish to sound disrespectful, but the fact you didn’t learn Latin is interesting. I got A’s in my two years of Latin, and I suspect we are both equally well off education-wise as a result. I’m also guessing we may be of the same vintage - nearly antiques - since it would come as a surprise if Latin were even taught anywhere nowadays. Outside of Latin America, of course.

Maybe not. Defense contractor I used to work for gathered up certain peoples and genders who were worthless in order to make the affirmative action quotas. But I know what you mean..

Why not add all the scores earned on a test together and then divide by the number of students in the class. Each student then gets an average grade. This is good training for all the socialists-in-being who will learn that individual effort means nothing since in the collective we are all in this together.
