Looks like the Ruskies are a bit nonplussed by our WONDERFUL PRESIDENT TRUMP'S unusual letter and its astoundingly successful outcome.

Everything pres. Trump does is “unusual”, but it usually works. That’s the point.

Sounds good to me.

This coming from a country that spawned Nikita Khrushchev.

“In one of the most surreal moments in the history of the Cold War, Russian leader Nikita Khrushchev removes his shoe and threatens to pound a table with it in protest against a speech critical of Soviet policy in Eastern Europe. During a debate over a Russian resolution decrying colonialism, a representative of the government of the Philippines charged the Soviets with employing a double standard, pointing to their domination of Eastern Europe as an example of the colonialism they were criticizing in their resolution.

In response, Khrushchev removed his loafer and waved it in protest (there is some debate around whether or not he then banged the table with it). The chaotic scene finally ended when General Assembly President Frederick Boland (Ireland) broke his gavel calling the meeting to order, but not before the image of Khrushchev as a hotheaded buffoon was indelibly etched into America’s collective memory.”

I could see Putin saying the same thing. “Don’t be a tough guy” and “Don’t be a fool!”

“Don’t be a tough guy” and “Don’t be a fool!”

Sounds pretty typical for guy from the Bronx.

Many people who don’t speak Trump; don’t get Trump.

Flowery platitudes and politispeak is just not his style.

Direct and to the point is. There can be no misunderstanding his point or meaning.

Style aside, the letter content should be viewed positively by the Russians. It recognizes Syrian and Russian interests, encourages rapproachment with the Kurds, and discouraged a Turkish expansion into Syria.

Russia has been trying to create a wedge between Turkey and NATO. What is stupefying is that all the leftists demand our soldiers remain in northern Syria as human shields - tempting military action against them and possible death - and that we should threaten Turkey with air strikes if anything does happen. Then in the next breath, these same leftists say that Trump is trying to destroy NATO. You cannot have it both ways.

This was far too complicated for the TDS-DNC media. So they broad stroked it and said “our troops are ashamed” - which is a joke.

No more endless wars. It’s madness.

reminds me of Michael Milken’s “highly confident letter” that he always sent right before he swooped in with junk bonds ...

also reminds me of those “deal you can’t refuse” letters from the knee breakers ...

they worked, and worked quickly ...

Yep - when you got a choice between “diplomatic tact” (nuancing everything so nothing is specifically clear) and plain language, you can trust what you hear with the plain language....
