New York Times reporter Isabella Grullon Paz devoted nearly 1,500 words (plus three flattering photographs of her subjects) in her Wednesday edition profile of the Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter at Ohio State University: “Why Some Young Voters Bolt the Democratic Party For Democratic Socialism.”
The long story was long on pushing the students' youthful enthusiasm, and entirely absent of questioning the wisdom of trying to outflank the Democratic Party, already careening toward the left on gun control, abortion, immigration, and transgenderism (click “expand”):
As Tuesday night’s Democratic debate approached, members of the Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter at Ohio State University tried to figure out where to focus their energy.
At a meeting on campus last week designed to set their goals for the year, they talked about labor organizing, volunteering for Morgan Harper’s congressional campaign and hosting a town hall-style event focused on climate change.

Democratic Socialism does not appear to differ so very much from National Socialism, so popular during the reign of the Third Reich in Germany. Just a different social group upon which all the ills of history are being pinned. It appears that persons of Republican and/or conservative leanings are treated much the same as the German Jews in the early days of the rise of the Third Reich, and it is only a matter of time until the mandate shall go out for all these recalcitrant persons to be herded into “re-education” camps, from which, somehow, they never re-emerge.
I keep looking for the local Republican Socialist chapter butt can’t seem to locate it........
And who’s going to do the herding?
Wonder if Democratic Socialism is “word scrabble” in order to give Socialism more credibility. After all, it is “Democratic.”
Well I for one have learned something from the study of history. And should these people ever get control I will not end up in a re-education camp. Fortunately I’m old enough that I don’t have anything to lose. If they ever came for me well I would die in my own home. Hopefully along with the few of them.
Once people no longer thought the freedom was worth serious sacrifice, they were lost. And the skeleton of the republic that remains may well be lost also.
Antifa, of course. Duh.
But first, the Second Amendment has to be declared dead letter, and ALL guns confiscated.

One thing missing from this story. When these socialists had their meetings on a public university campus there were no violent assaults by conservatives dressed in black wearing masks.
Funny how the author missed pointing that out.
I would cheer if the New York Times went up in flames.

Antifa? They’d be massacred. Who likes or respects a black face mask? No attempt to invest them with confiscatory powers will succeed.
If police departments were to hire contractor door kickers, the latter would be seen as mercenaries & nothing more. Righteous targets.
Using Antifa to round up citizens? When the state hires known criminals to enforce its will, its moral authority has already collapsed and there’s nothing to lose by opening fire.
The state wants total power. Will it risk anarchy to achieve it?
Those who warn of `civil war’ when the door kickers arrive are really predicting the outbreak of anarchy & chaos.

Oh, the “other side” has every confidence they can carry this out. They have lived in their echo chamber for so long, they have almost whooped themselves into a victory run, as there shall be no resistance, and they can do what they want.
Also, they are not susceptible to either logic or reality.
