The longest stretch without one was from 1971-2004, which permitted the Dems to deeply entrench their corrupt patronage armies that Ernie Fletcher tried to weed out when he was elected, only to have them used against him to run him out in a virtual coup d’état led by that execrable then-AG Stumpy.
