They are just afraid some employees may leak and reveal the built-in spy algorithms that they are building into all of their systems......

Well known that Chinese spies are enrolled in colleges across the USA.
I have been inside a Huawei facility in Shenzhen. In my professional career I have visited manufacturing sites for many major corporations all over the world and the most difficult to get into was Huawei.
The most vivid impression left was, I have never seen so many safes in one place. A very creepy, paranoid feel to the place. The actual worksite, when we got to it, was a small room with about 10 workstations in it on either side of a central table, benches on both sides of the table and coders were seated literally elbow to elbow. Really weird.
