Bible in a Year:
You help us by your prayers. 2 Corinthians 1:11
Samuel Mills and four of his friends often gathered together to pray for God to send more people to share the good news of Jesus. One day in 1806, after returning from their prayer meeting, they got caught in a thunderstorm and took refuge in a haystack. Their weekly prayer gathering then became known as the Haystack Prayer Meeting, which resulted in a global mission movement. Today the Haystack Prayer Monument stands at Williams College in the US as a reminder of what God can do through prayer.
Our heavenly Father is delighted when His children approach Him with a common request. Its like a family gathering where theyre united in purpose, sharing a common burden.
The apostle Paul acknowledges how God helped him through the prayers of others during a time of severe suffering: He will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers (2 Corinthians 1:1011). God has chosen to use our prayersespecially our prayers togetherto accomplish His work in the world. No wonder the verse continues: Then many will give thanks . . . [for the] answer to the prayers of many.
Lets pray together so we can also rejoice together in Gods goodness. Our loving Father is waiting for us to come to Him so He can work through us in ways that reach far beyond anything we could ever imagine.
What request can you and others pray for? How has your faith been strengthened when you pray with others?
Father, help us to pray together even as we work together.
WOO-HOO, we’re staying in Alaska for tonight’s Road Trip!

The FR Canteen is Free Republic's longest running daily thread
specifically designed to provide entertainment and moral support for the military.
The doors have been open since Oct 7 2001,
the day of the start of the war in Afghanistan.
We are indebted to you for your sacrifices for our Freedom.
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
Making progress in the new work shop? Close to moving your household?
Good evening, Pro....did you have a nice day?
Getting really chilly here.
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
Howdy, Kathy.
I hope things didn’t pile up too much this afternoon.
Howdy, Mayor.
Did you get everything squared away yet or are you still trying to figure out where to put what? Moving can be such a pain.
Howdy, PRO.
Did you have a good time with your son last evening? Let me guess .... y’all stayed busy “saving the world”. :-)
We're getting chilly at night too, although it was a nice 65 degree day today.
Had a good time with the boy yesterday and YES, we do have a new video game we're playing, a very fun and relaxing past time it is.
Is the new home getting close to a move-in?
Buenos Noches Kathy!
It is so great you continue this thread for — good Lord — 15+ years?
I always saw you as a FRiend as well as friend.
So many years, so many miles.
I’m good with putting things away for the most part.
Now I’m setting the Plasma table up.
The computer that came with a password
and the guy I bought it from gave me the wrong one.
He doesn’t remember the right one.
So now I have to figure out what’s next.
It's getting colder. Tomorrow will necessitate more than a windbreaker.
LOL! I figured you were playing video games. So you have a new one, do ya?
Hubby’s dealing with some plumbing issues at the other house, replacing some worn out pieces. It hasn’t been lived in for over 20 years so it’s no surprise.
We’re getting closer to moving but not quite there yet.
