Sounds like things are moving along - - - except for the dratted computer. I hope the guy can remember what the password is, or will swap with a computer he DOES know its password.
Hey there, Kathy.
It sounds like winter is moving in up there already. BRRRRRRRRRR! I hope it doesn’t swing down this way any time soon. We’d like to enjoy a little autumn for a bit. LOL
There’s a slight chance we’ll get rain late tomorrow night/early Wed. morning but we aren’t holding our breath. We wish the system that’s moving across the deep south right now would move up here. We could sure use that rain.
Good evening, free...((HUGS))...still settled in Texas? Still traveling for work?
The Canteen doors opened October 1, 2001. Lots of folks help keep it going for our troops and their families.
I’m getting closer to retirement.
Great thread about the base in Alaska. I just recently found THIS WEBCAM at the Anchorage airport and seaplane port. Fun to watch! Lots of snow on those mountains right now! |
How interesting!! I’ve been working at Clear AFS on and off the for the last two years on the new radar facilities. Currently I’m at JBER finishing up a couple of jobs and then doing some upgrades on some F-22 hangars and then heading back up to Clear. We just got a another contract that will keep us busy at Clear for a few years. It’s certainly a lot different now than the photos in the beginning of this thread. God Bless you all for your efforts!!
{{HUGS}} backatcha
Live in TX, still traveling for work. Now in Puerto Rico (dang — that is a heck of a trek).
I suspect you and I are the same retirement track. Everyone (including Mrs. FD) says “Oh, you will be bored when you have no work!”
My response: “Let me give it a go” :)
Hear! Hear!! LOL!
Howdy, LUV.
How was your day? Did you get any rain or did the system blow up to the east of you?
I’ll bet LUV would join me in saying y’all need to GO FOR IT. LOL!
A computer without a password....hmmm....could be interesting.
Seems like the guy you bought it from is responsible for getting a good one...as in it must be operable.
It’s not very often you say “homework is manageable” on a Monday night. Glad to hear it.
Snow is half way down the mountains, and tomorrow needs a coat, not a windbreaker.
The thermometer outside my window says 32.5, and inside I need to go find a sweatshirt.
BRRRR!! Bad enough to need a coat outside but needing a sweatshirt inside? Not fun!
We had low 70s today and will have upper 70s tomorrow. Then low 60s the next two days. Then back into the mid 70s for the weekend. We’re on the autumn roller coaster ride.
I say go for it, too. BUT...only when you FEEL that it’s the right time. I worked longer than I needed to because I loved the job. The moment I hated it, I got out. No regrets and no looking back.
Retirement is fabulous if it is YOUR decision. And I, for one, don’t have to be “doing something” 12 hours of the day.
Brrr. It does look chilly! But beautiful with the snow on the mountains, the blue water and the gold of the fall leaves.
I live just above the OS in Providence Hospital. LOL!
Welcome to the Canteen, Darth Mall...thanks for sharing your first hand experiences.
Got your bunny boots and parka at the ready?
Any resemblance to Campion AFS near Galena? Man, the chow was so good at Campion I almost hated to leave after my tour of duty.
The nice thing about most of these live stream cams is you can go back several hours by running your cursor long the red line at the bottom and clicking where you want to watch.
They apparently have several cams around the airport, as the views change periodically. They also pan so you aren’t just looking at one spot the whole time.
Pretty cool setup.
