The coup and impeachment has never been about removing Trump. The coupists know they will never have the votes to do that because the GOP doesn’t want their fingerprints on removing Trump from office.
It’s all about hamstringing the Trump admin, Congress seizing the beltway agenda and nullifying Trump’s election. If anything is being impeached it is our votes for Trump. We are being impeached.

Hamstringing the Trump administration as well as frightening off good people from ever serving in it. If you accept a post working for Trump, you can expect that you and every member of your family will have their entire lives searched for anything that can even be claimed to be negative.
Dems and their supporters are happy to be using Soviet Union style strategies as long as it keeps them in power. Republicans say nothing so they can stay on the mostly legal corruption by proxy gravy train.

True, the Democrats no there is zero chance of removing Trump (even if they had an actual legitimate reason). What they are hoping for is to "tarnish" Trump in the eyes of his supporters so that enough of them sit home on Election Day 2020 to hand his Democrat opponent a victory.
Based on the huge crowds that came out last week in Louisiana and Minnesota for his rallies, it doesn't appear this strategy is working very well.
