Sorry dude, but the law suit holding them responsible for the last fires, and the pending bankruptcy, what the hell did you expect them to do?

Exactly.

PG&E is forced to pay for all the damage wildfires cause from these situations.

They are rightly protecting themselves from liability.

The people of California want everything their way or they will sue.

They get what the vote for and what those elections results bring to their lives.

They can suck it up buttercups.

I expect them to complete upgrades/tree trimming by last May. But barring that they are broke/bankrupt anyway...already needing to borrow $11 billion to pay prior claims, now they piss off 1 million people who will be filing further damage claims amounting to millions of dollars more! All the blacked out areas I drove thru on the way to my blacked out Mom’s house had maximum winds of 18 mph. Very targeted outages for maybe 10K people is what I would expect if they are really paranoid.
