Himes: ‘All Transcripts’ in Impeachment Inquiry Will Be Made Public
Breitbart ^ | 13 Oct 2019 | Pam Key

Posted on 10/13/2019 10:17:07 AM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

On Sunday’s broadcast of ABC’s “This Week,” Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, said “all transcripts” from the House’s impeachment inquiry will be made public.

Jon Karl asked, “Congressman, why is this all happening behind closed doors? Why the secrecy? This is not a classified deposition. Why not do it out in the open?”

Himes said, “First of all, all transcripts will be scrubbed for classified information and made available for the American public to see. There’s two reasons why these depositions are happening behind closed doors. One reason is when you’re talking to ambassadors and other U.S. government officials who have regularly had access to classified information, you need to be able to talk about that and then say this has to be redacted because it involved classified information. That’s the most important reason. The second reason is, when you’re interviewing people around the president, political supporters of the president, you don’t want them to be able to look at each other’s testimony and coordinate testimony. These are a group of people who have shown they have no problem whatsoever lying if they think it serves their interests. You don’t want to give them the opportunity to look at what they’re saying and coordinate their stories.”

The pretend impeachment? No vote, no inquiry, no valid subpoenas.

Only after months of Schiff's endless lies and mischaracterizations.

...oh, and after the impeachment vote in the House.

Fabricated transcripts, of course.

Adam Schiff and his Hollywood screenwriter friend are burning the midnight oil editing the final version even as we speak.

Redacted, and released long after the Dems and the media have already created their own narrative, which the public will have been hearing for weeks or months.

This himes nitwit apparently has never read the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. What an absolute uninformed waste of space. This backbencher loser should be investigated and so should his wealthy extended family. The corruption is great with these proto-facists.

A Democrat “scrubbing for classified information” is akin to Al Gore “scrubbing a Schrodinger wave equation for a solution”.

Cannot be done.

Period.

It was a brilliant move by Trump to release the complete transcript

it screwed up all of their plans

Now of course they’re trying to do everything in secrecy and getting called on it and asked why can’t you just release transcripts just like Trump did?

The bottom line is the stinking hypocrisy of the Democrats is being exposed the presses tried their best to cover for them but the American people are onto it and they’re not gonna put up with it anymore

Should all be conducted in public, covered live by the media and the president’s party and lawyers should be allowed to cross examine witnesses and present evidence and witnesses.

But the whole shebang should be voted on by the full house first. The constitution does not empower the Speaker to initiate impeachment processes and set the rules on her own accord without a vote of the full House.

The House of Representatives “shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.” That’s the House of Representatives not the Speaker. And the rules are set by the House, not the Speaker on her own partisan whims.

And the entire proceeding must be conducted in full view of the free press and people, otherwise it’s nothing but a partisan kangaroo court, designed to overthrow a duly elected president.

This is America where even the president has the right to due process and to confront his accusers.

The so-called whistle blower act does NOT override the constitution.

Byron York: Democrats Use Secret Impeachment Process to Control Narrative
Breitbart ^ | 13 Oct 2019 | Joel B. Pollak
Posted on 10/13/2019, 1:12:50 PM by E. Pluribus Unum

Byron York wrote in the Washington Examiner on Saturday that Democrats are using a secret impeachment process to create a narrative that leaves out contradictory facts and prevents Republicans from presenting any real defense. York noted that Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee, chaired by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), are using the same tacit they used in 2017 to silence then-chair Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) with a phony ethics investigation. They are having witnesses testify in deposition, rather than in public or by transcription, which invokes ethics rules that prevent members from sharing any details publicly. Democrats then leak selective bits of testimony — and any Republicans who dare respond risk an ethics investigation that will silence them and damage them politically.

York observed:

Friday’s interview of Marie Yovanovitch, the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, marked a new point — a low point, as Republicans see it — in Democratic efforts to keep impeachment information out of public view.

The Yovanovitch session was different. Democrats conducted the interview in the format of a deposition, which is different from a transcribed interview. One key difference is that there are serious penalties for lawmakers who reveal the contents of a deposition. Doing so would almost surely subject the offending member to a House ethics investigation.

Here is the clever part, from the Democratic perspective. As the Yovanovitch interview began, her 10-page opening statement quickly leaked. In it, Yovanovitch made her case for all the press to read.

Why is the Intelligence Subcommittee doing this instead of the usual Judiciary Subcommittee?? Because Adam Shift For Brains, Intel SubCommittee chairman, is guilty of this as is Nancy Piglosi.

Typical Communist m.o.

Hitlery was fired from the Watergate legal team because she advocated denying President Nixon legal representation.
