SOP for an Open Door Welfare Check at 2:30 am? If the woman was in the middle of going room to room to clear the house from any intruder, the officer who opened fire, didn't help. I'm pretty sure, after seeing a woman with a gun in the house, he wasn't too keen on knocking on the door next, even though he was supposed to... What would Obama say?

I think the truth that an innocent woman was murdered in her home has been well established at this point.

There should then be at least two charges, one for the shooting and one for reckless endangerment of a minor. He very well could have shot that kid.

Doesn't look good. Cop sneaks around back (doesn't ring doorbell first), and woman approaches her own bedroom window (where she is playing video games with 8 year old before bed).
Cop yells: "Show me your BANG! hands!".
Woman never had time to process the strange noises outside her window, let alone to comply with a Noob cop (on force since 2018).
She probably died with an xbox controller in her hand. Cops show a still frame of pistol supposedly hers, but what would you do if you were a single mom who heard noises outside her bedroom window? I'd arm myself, first.

One of the first rules of firearms is KNOW WHAT YOU’RE SHOOTING AT!!! You go to a house to check on the occupant, then you see “someone” standing in the house and you shoot them??? WTF??? Didn’t it occur to you that maybe the target was the occupant of the HOUSE?

Let’s see if there is more to this story, as its difficule to trust anything the media says. Having said that there does appear to be a rise in incompetent trigger happy cops; probably because of lowering the standards nationwide.
If you want to make a bad situation worse then call the police.
This was not “after” the welfare check. The police had not yet announced their presence, nor had they simply rung the doorbell. They were quietly prowling around the outside of the house.
I can’t see this as anything less than negligent homicide.
Maybe he swatted her...but I doubt it. If he did then it should show up on the 9/11 call. Why didn’t he , if he was afraid to approach and ring the doorbell himself, maybe suspecting the place was being or had been burgled but not knowing her number, shout and call to see if his neighbor could answer?
