video. you can see people running that don’t appear to make it away safely.
It looks like inadequate support for concrete floors that had not fully cured, or that they poured floors and advanced too quickly before the concrete cured.
At least the cranes didn’t fall.
Just watch that video a moment ago as well. Incredible. If there’s not dead and injured from that collapse, I’d be incredibly surprised.
Just go to the one in Biloxi. It has a Ruth’s Chris steakhouse.

If the structure for the “front” part was like what we can see at the remainder, no wonder it collapsed. The outside corners of the top two decks seem to either have no columns under them. There might be some tube steel posts — so small they are hard to see, and that ain’t good). Were they relying on metal studs, yet to be installed on the perimeter, to hold up concrete slabs? My guess is that this is the fruit of epic incompetence and corruption disguised as “value engineering.”
