“Officials said the U.S. is set to ship two F-15 squadrons, two Patriot missile batteries, one anti-missile defense system known as THADD and other planes.”

The “other planes” are likely F-35s. And AWACS and tankers. And drones. And essential transport.

All going someplace we have no business being.

Those assets should be Chinese, Japanese and EU.

You have to prepare an area for a withdrawal, just as you have to for an attack.
SA is a good spot for defending our assets, and a good place to move them to as needed.
It’s going to take time to leave the ME, anmd it has to be done carefully.

Lot cheaper to send a ground force than a carrier group for a medium or longer term deployment.

And BIG dollars for our defense industry

We pull out of Syria.

Turkey launches offensive in Syria

Iran move troops to the Syria border

Iranian oil tanker hit by missiles

US deploys fighter jets to Saudi Arabia

There is some intel we do not know about, pieces are moving quickly.

I think the USA pulling troops out of Syria is the USA pulling troops out of harms way. Something big is about to happen.

So if attacks on Saudi decrease their oil production, then other oil and gas producing countries (Russia) pick up the slack and gain influence.

Example, Turkey says mess with us and we send all our Muslim refugees to Europe. Russia says, mess with Turkey and we stop the flow of oil and gas to Europe.

Turkey then goes on to wipe out the Kurds.

I feel like there is a lot more going on than meets the eye. Of course, that is just me opinion.

This is likely to stop Iran, and, to build up a debt of, “you owe us big time” to the House of Saud. Meaning, we’ll be able to call in favors in future.

My guess is that the agreement that DJT has with MBS is playing a big part in all this.

Trump has agreed with MBS,Mohammad Ben Salmon, for the Saudis to take leadership role in fighting terrorists and other issues like what is going on now with the kurds being savaged by long time enemies the turks.

The US will still provide logistic and be in the background if needed. But, it's not likely. The Saudis have excellent troop strength, quality weapons and are extremely well trained. It's likely MBS will help the kurds ASAP,anyway I sure hope so.

I am really confused why the USA policy to to remove troops out of Syria but put more troops in Saudia Arabia. The policy is not clear if you try to use the endless war argument.

How much help did the Saudis give us in fighting ISIS? In providing homes for refugees? They are not our friends, unless we sell our friendship to whomever can pay for it.

Hopefully this is just to train those lazy damn sons of Ishmael to fight their own battles.
They can pay us, and they can pay us a whole bunch.

I can see Trump deciding that is good for America.

He likes good deals.

I don’t think SA is worth one American. IMO.

I support Trump but, I don’t even really trust what FOX reports anyway.

Iran gets hit so we send two F-15 squadrons to protect SA? A bit queer?

Has to be E model squadrons. C and D models have been relegated to home defense and not serious air defense any longer. E models are bomb trucks for offensive actions.

A bit queer isn’t it? Odd way to “protect” SA isn’t it?

Folks,

You need to get a little bit of perspective here. Look at the units they are sending, Patriot batteries and Thaad missile systems. This is purely a strategic posture to protect those oil fields and not further destabilize the world oil markets. This is what Iran wants, they need money and they need oil prices to rise. We are winning this war/non war with them.

As for the Salafists, they are as much a threat to the Kingdom of Saud as they are to us. Let them overrun the Kingdom and we’ll have another enemy just like we acquired when the peacock throne fell in Iran. How has that worked out over the past 40 years? Iran has been responsible for more terrorism in the world over the past 40 years than anyone else. Beirut happened 36 years ago but it’s fresh in my mind like it was yesterday. Perhaps we should have been a little more pro active with the Shah....

Years ago Eisenhower warned of the military-industrial complex which today we call the Deep State. It is the Deep State that profits from our continuing involvement in never ending wars in the Middle East. For years Trump said we need to pull out and concentrate on problems we here have at at home. I suspect President Trump is getting bad advice from from dishonest advisors who are working for shadowy masters. One should also wonder why operatives push for us to get involved in other nation’s whose populations are made up mostly of citizens who openly reject the divinity of Jesus.

This probably has more to do about Iran than Saudi Arabia.
