Undoubtedly part of the strategy.
Turkey is threatening Europe with the threat of sending 4+ million refugees their way.
Very complex dynamic.
Is part of it to expel Turkey from NATO?
Is it a multifront invasion and decapitation of Iran?
Is it ?????????????
Many many possible end games.

Trump: 'Ok, Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, France, time to man up! According to my records you owe NATO enough back dues to allow you to help our fellow-NATO Turkish bros, so you take care of this crisis. Get back to me when it's all resolved.'

How does that work? I ask in all seriousness. If a NATO ally is attacked, when do the other members defend? If there a vote or something? What’s the process? I couldn’t find much out doing a quick search.

If turkey attacks Iran, NATO is not obligated to come to their aid. It’s doubtful we need to come to their aid if Iran attacks them in the wake of them invading an Iranian Ally.
Furthermore, we’re not required to get involved in any war that a NATO member does. Article 5 only requires us to take whatever measures we deem necessary. That can simply diplomacy if we feel like it

Isn’t Turkey invading a sovereign country? Why the hell would NATO have to come to their aide?

Article 5 is not about supporting member’s aggression.
