Jane Fonda is willing to go to jail over climate change -- she just got busted outside the U.S. Capitol during a massive protest.
Jane was arrested Friday along with a number of other protesters on the steps on the east side of the Capitol building. In video from the demonstration, you see Jane being placed in handcuffs and escorted into a police van.
Jane was demonstrating with the group Oil Change International over the climate change crisis. The protest is part of Jane's "Fire Drill Fridays" initiative -- she's vowed to protest outside the Capitol every Friday, rain or shine, and says she's been inspired by Swedish teen activist Greta Thunberg and her weekly climate strikes across the globe.

The irony of her protestations is that she is the Rachael Carson of the climate change movement. Rachael Carson’s well intentioned book, “Silent Spring”, was responsible for the banning of DDT that ended up killing millions worldwide from preventable mosquito born malaria.
Jane Fonda’s movie, “The China Syndrome” fanned the flames of anti-nuclear hysteria that ended up virtually ending the nuclear power industry in this country. If we had pursued nuclear power as originally planned we would have avoided pumping trillions of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere. The safety record of nuclear reactors has actually been better than fossil fuel generators since the movie was released.
She never meant a single one of her apologies for that stunt.
