Yahoo News ^ | 10/11/19 | Jerry Adler

The televangelist Pat Robertson stood by Donald Trump in 2016 during the storm over the “Access Hollywood” tape of the Republican candidate boasting about assaulting women, dismissing the remarks as “macho talk.” As recently as last month, he defended Trump’s attempt to get Ukraine to discredit Joe Biden, calling the idea of impeachment “absurd.” But this week, finally, Trump did something that “absolutely appalled” Robertson, leading him to warn that the president was in danger of losing “the mandate of Heaven”

oy times two.

What’s interesting is that I could be considered “evangelical”.

I agree with trump on this one. People forget that we removed 50-100 troops. That’s it.

TV evangelicals might, but normal ones don’t.

It blows my mind that there are apparently still Americans out there who aren’t sick and tired yet of our pointless involvement in the Middle East quagmire hellhole.

Robertson appears to believe that without US soldiers on the ground in the middle east, God is disarmed.

“Evangelicals”? No one asked me.

I haven’t seen Trump wrong-footed much so far. I figure he knows what he is doing, and I’ll give him benefit of the doubt. He is avoiding open military conflict with the Turks. He is staying out of the Assad/Al Nusra/Russia/Turkey quagmire.

I don’t think he is abandoning the Kurds, though they may have to drop back to more defensible positions. They will have to fight the Turks without us in Syria.

Pat Robertson should stick to stealing charity funds targeted for Africa.

Let the Pope send in the Swiss Guard. That should satisfy the Almighty.

Pat Robertston seeks first the kingdom of the NeoCons...and depends on sensations for donations.

My sentiments as well. Okay, so lets say (for the sake of argument) we need to take military action from time to time. Fine. But limit the time. Don't stay there forever. Let them beat the crap out of each other. Why the hell should we care, especially if we have our own oil?

Somewhere an American won't be killed. And he will have a child who wouldn't have existed. And that child will have other children. We will never know who these people will be, but shouldn't they have their opportunity to have lives and not sacrifice their existence for some nebulous, never ending military action in a part of the world that doesn't care for, or even deserve peace?

I don’t know if it has been made clear. USA, Egypt and the Kurds signed an agreement to destroy ISIS and the caliphate that’s all. Since both have been done we are out of there. Never an agreement to fight over Kurdish land. Heard this on Fox yesterday.

I’m beyond fed up with it. I don’t want any more of our men and women dying and being maimed for a bunch of America hating Middle Easterners. F**k ‘em.

Are these the same people who have been agitating for the removal of the Syrian dictator Assad, who has a reputation for being protective of Syrian Christians?

What the heck is the “mandate of Heaven?” According to my Bible, it is when you trouble the Jews and Israel that you risk a smiting by God.

Abandoning some of our best friends in a region where they are few and far between is a major mistake. Very major. Other allies are watching too.

Pat Robertson is in the war business? That’s what God called him to do?
