Phoned my Dad out in SF Bay Area about this to get an update.

Told him we are fine out here with our electricity needs as we use what Trump calls...

Big Beautiful Coal

I hear lots of happy talk about “we are going back to the moon and mars” from both private and public sector, and multiple countries.

Let me repeat that—lots of _talk_.

People are very good at _talk_ these days.

Either _do_ or don’t do.

I am sick of _talk_.

I will believe it when I see it—all I see now is mouths’ yapping.

You might be onto something. I can see how the Boomer generation following the “Greatest” generation could have an outlook that the worst was behind them and future looked bright and shiny whereas today the doom and gloom generation talks nonsense about the earth dying and climate catastrophes so kids today (like Greta Thurnberg) see only the negative and none of the real possibilities that lie ahead for them. Poor Greta is nothing more than a sock puppet for doomsayers (Soros and Gates).

Very true. NIMBYs are vigilant against any new builds in or near small towns in rural areas, too, even though the places are rotting and full of drugged ridden zombies.

"Amazingly the war on drugs has increased the purity of cocaine up to 95% while the price has gone down to $30 a gram.
I hope the government starts a war a on loose big busted blonds.
"

The government hasn't started any war against loose, big breasted blondes any more than it has on drugs. But the saturation of the loose bleach blonde market comes with the consequence of really huge derrieres.

“Yes, and it started in the early part of 1992... From there it got worse, way worse.”

Maybe there is no exact date when America began its decline. Economically and militarily we have ascended long after our morals began to go down.

I would peg the starting point somewhere right after WW2. This was the peak of America morally, in my estimation. We weren’t perfect. We’ve always had our flaws. But we helped stop Hitler’s maniacal rise to world power.

Unfortunately we didn’t defeat Communism. And we imported NAZI war criminals with Operation Paper Clip. Both of these, along with secret societies engaged in various occult practices, probably were the catalysts for the enemies within to begin exerting undue influence.

We were attacked with atheistic humanism in the 50s (or maybe as far back as the Scopes trial of 1925), the sexual revolution (especially legalizing pornography) in the 60s, and abortion in the 70s. During the Clinton administration, all obscenity laws, except those against child pornography, quit being enforced. During the Bush Jr admin sodomy was declared by the courts to be another protected right, like abortion, based on privacy. Under Obama, we have had marriage itself redefined, and now children are being heavily targeted to indoctrinate them to accept perversion as normative.

We have been in continuous moral decline since at least the 50s, I think. Perhaps the rise of feminism and occultism in the late 1800s were the real start. I’m not sure.

But I would place the start of the moral decline before most of us on this forum were ever born.

Is America Entering a Dark Age?

No.

That train has long ago left the station with Row and Wade on it.

Does anyone believe that contemporary Americans could build another transcontinental railroad in six years?

No.

The land was EMPTY back then. ('cept fer them pesky injuns!)

The optimistic fifties and early sixties were absolutely a picnic compared to today. Your generation had a childhood that’s about as close to ideal as it gets in this world.

California has not built a major dam in 40 years. Instead, officials squabble over the water stored and distributed by our ancestors, who designed the California State Water Project and Central Valley Project.

Contemporary Californians would have little food or water without these massive transfers, and yet they often ignore or damn the generation that built the very system that saves us.
