The act of taking advantage of the family name might not be illegal but conspiracy is illegal when done in furtherance of a crime. If the conspiracy, for example, contemplated benefits to be dispersed by the vice president, even if hooded with generalities about the need to develop the gas business in Ukraine in cooperation with Americans, that might be enough given the right collateral circumstances.

It is not impossible that collateral evidence, perhaps documentary evidence, may emerge proving the existence of a scheme or a step taken in furtherance of the scheme. Such evidence might well come from a Ukrainian source. Someone could testify that Vice President Biden applied direct pressure to hire his son in exchange for a loan.

It is not a stretch to think that a Ukrainian might testify Biden expressly conditioned the $1 billion loan guarantee not just of the firing of the prosecutor but connected to an express concern about an investigation into Joe Jr.

Stranger things have happened.

Hunter getting paid is legal, but Joe Biden used his political influence to get Hunter the “job” and it smacks of corruption

To me there’s one key issue.

We send foreign aid to countries. Thats our tax dollars.

Those dollars come back to politicians/families in the form of these so called “ legal” deals...

So in effect we paid Joe/Hunter Biden for their scheme...

Thats unacceptable and needs to be explained that way so they are exposed for the duplicitous vermin that they are..

Bullshit. Extortion under the color of law and being an accessory to it, are crimes.

But it was corrupt as hell.

If selling political influence isn’t illegal it sure as hell should be!

If it was legal, then the Bidens won’t fear an investigation.

Evidently, it is against international law, but you have to prove there was a quid pro quo. Perhaps that’s easier if you take it to an international court.

Either way, it is not reasonable that a drug addicted cocaine abuser just kicked out of the Navy, Hunter Biden, should AT THAT SAME TIME be given an 83K per month job on the BOARD OF DIRECTORS of a foreign corporation. He couldn’t have passed the pee test at WalMart for getting hired.

How could he find the juice to land such a job?

It’s a no-brainer, really. It was corruption.

It’s proven that Biden took the money. I saw the transactions myself on TV in a segment in which John Solomon showed them.

We know he took the money. We know he wasn’t qualified. We also know he was a drug abuser and not a candidate for such a job at all.

Corruption is the only answer.

The NY Slimes needs to lookup the Hobbes Act. There was even a recent court decision to limit applicability of that Act, but STILL Quid Pro Joe meets every criteria. Scum should be in JAIL. Won’t be.

“What Hunter Biden Did Was Legal — And That’s the Problem”

No NO NO. What he did was very illegal. He pedaled political influence of his father for financial gain. That is a crime when money laundering happens. It did.

The NYT is just trying to make this not seem a crime. It was a crime and the NYT knows it!
