Etu Ted?

Didn’t take you for one of the freakin neocons. Glad to know you’re out of the closet on this one.

Totally put this household in the “don’t contact me for a vote” list. I’ll sit out like I did for McRomney and the Cain mutiny.

The Kurds are old pro’s at Christian genocide.

No wonder you like them.

It’s best we withdraw now while we can do it in an orderly fashion.

Or we can wait until the moment our economy collapses and our soldiers are left on their own and get slaughtered.

Cruz missed a memo or two. The US screws the Kurds at least once a decade and has done so ever since Eisenhower.

The Israelis know all about not having their own homeland, let them help the Kurds get their own homeland if that's the real issue.

As for poor Christian Kurds being put at risk, Ted, I say the same thing the Israelis, Saudis, and US, said while ISIS was beheading Christian men, women, and children well within the operating radius of Israeli troops, US troops, and "freedom fighters" controlled by the Saudis; "not our problem".

I don't recall you, Senator Cruz, swimming against that tide and demanding that we, the Israelis, or the Saudis, do anything to help Christians then. Nor do I remember crocodile tears from you over Christians in Iraq being murdered while US troops wondered around the country looking for the Jihadis rather than operating in and from areas the Jihadists had vowed to cleanse of Christians.

We never lift a finger to protect Christians in the ME, never tell the Israelis that part of the quid pro quo for all our aid is that they protect Christians, and promise to go to war against Russia if Russia tries to protect Christians in the region. When a nice, profitable, little war is about to come to an end, though, suddenly it's "God forbid we leave any Christians in danger."

He stated repeatedly that he favors war only if our interests are threatened and that regional powers take care of their own backyard.

Do you think it might be in our national interest to have our allies trust us not to abandon them when we get fatigued?

Why are people up in arms when clearly the status wasn’t all that great? We just keep US soldiers there forever? Trump obviously negotiated a deal. It’s not in Erdogan’s interest to be a genocidal idiot maniac.

Just bomb the prisons and shoot anything leaving afterwards.

Turkey starts war with Kurds, President Trump takes action to remove Turkey from NATO. I for one never could understand why they were admitted into NATO, being their Islamic history.

Can someone please explain to me how it’s in Erdogan’s interests to wage war on the Kurds?

All Muslim sects are called by the Qu’ran to purify the world by destroying all the jews, enslaving the infidel and destroying every corrupt Muslim sect that is not the one that Mohammed led.

Unfortunately every one of the over 200 Muslim sects thinks they and they only are the true sect, so Islam has been in a fight to the death with itself for 1400 years

Momma always told me not to jump into a dog fight to break it up or I would get hurt for nothing.

Trump understands this. Sinning vs Shiite vs Kurd vs... it never ends, and NONE of them are our friends in the end.

So all of official Washington is upset because Trump is bringing 1,000 troops of Syria. As if 1,000 troops could sufficiently police a country with 18 million people. When will these knotheads dispassionately consider the facts, instead of their wayward political assumptions? Probably never.

We’ve been in Syria for what - 15 years? And we have nothing but spent blood and treasure to show for it. It’s well past time to end the charade, and put the military-industrial complex back to work defending our border.

No, it’s not only Israel. If Israel were not a factor, the military industrial complex would still have plenty of other supposed reasons to keep us involved. Securing the oil (while artificially keeping us dependent on foreign oil for years) has been a favorite. There are any number of local conflicts that can be and have been used in the past to involve us in wars that don’t serve our interests - wars that had nothing to do with Israel. Just look at the Balkans, and Somalia to name just two. The Gulf War, at least the public justification for it, was primarily about protecting Saudi Arabia and the flow of oil.

You have a point.

Many people forget that the Kurds assisted the Ottomans with the Armenian Genocide.

They are also currently oppressing and killing the Assyrians. They aren’t the angels that some make them out to be.

Thank you for a rational post.

“President Donald Trump’s staunchest allies voiced outrage Monday after he suddenly declared that U.S. troops would allow Turkey to attack Syrian Kurds who have fought as U.S. allies for years to tamp down the Islamic State.”
