Mitt Romney: Trump’s Syria Withdrawal a ‘Betrayal’ of Kurds

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) on Monday condemned President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw U.S. troops in northern Syria, stating the move is a “betrayal” of the Kurds.

“The President’s decision to abandon our Kurd allies in the face of an assault by Turkey is a betrayal. It says that America is an unreliable ally; it facilitates ISIS resurgence; and it presages another humanitarian disaster,” Romney, a frequent Trump critic, wrote on Twitter.

Mitt Romney has betrayed the American people from day one.

If reports are true, old President GRAB ASS is likely checking Mitt’s prostate in that picture.

As a bonus, with more of the troops back home, there is less chance of their absentee ballots being “lost” as seems to happen to troop ballots in every election.

Maybe, but since when do we owe ONE DROP of AMERICAN BLOOD to the kurds?

I don’t recall Romney ever calling for the US to go into Syria to protect the Kurds.

Well then hurry up Mitt! Get everybody in congress back together and vote to declare war! It could be done in a few hours. Congressmen will just need a little time to get a flight back to Washington for an emergency session. Mitt, you and your colleagues have the power to change this. I assume you're scrambling as we speak to get your vote counted towards declaring war.

Oh yeah, you're not. That would require you getting your name on the record where your criticizing ass will no longer be covered when the coffins fly home. That might lose votes come election time.

The more stories I read on this, the more I think this is just a gleeful media thinking they may have finally found an issue to crack the Trump base.

Hey Mitt ya stupid bastard, Turkey is a “NATO ally” right?

Why do you people care more about some far flung country than you do Americans?

Nobody gives a $@&c anymore. Sorry, there’s only so many overseas hellholes we can waste American lives and treasure on for no articulable reason. I guess the Kurds are pretty good blokes, but what’s the game plan here?

There are still troops in Germany. The last time Congress declared war was 1941, there are still troops in South Korea.

Forget it. Either declare War - that’s Congress purview, or forget it. Let’s make sure the troops fighting our congressionally declared wars have clear objectives, and if they are not met then let’s bring the troops home. A draft will make this equitable and fair.

“ Horrible decision”

Syria intervention was Obama/Hillary/McCain’s doing

How long should US stay in Syria?

Does Romney think all this petty sniping will give him some kind of stature--or maybe gravitas?

All it does is show what a petty, nasty little man he really is.

Poppy Bush and the whole Bush family are nothing like their public construct. The entire crew are nothing but parasites.

Babs? Mean as a snake but great at arm twisting all sorts of entities out of money in exchange for access.
