Genteel Republicans like Mitt Romney complain about Donald Trump’s unpresidential behavior but how else does he combat the dirty left?
Only a barbarian could defy the liberal establishment as he has done.
Imagine if Romney were president, trying to be dignified and patrician. They’d eat him alive. Unless, of course, he did nothing to block their agenda, in which case he’d be left alone like all the other cowardly roll-over Republicans.
The American people chose a barbarian for president because they knew only a barbarian could drain the Washington swamp.
And, judging by the president’s unchanged approval ratings since House Democrats launched their impeachment inquiry, not to mention his record donation take off the back of it, Trump fans are with him for the long haul, no matter how boorishly he behaves.
They see him implementing his agenda against all odds. If the swamp gets in his way, Trump bulldozes over it. Supreme Court, tick. Taxes cut, tick. Regulations slashed, tick. Jobs up, tick. Military rebuilt, tick. ISIS stopped, tick. Globalism challenged, tick. Paris climate treaty scrapped, tick. Borders strengthened, tick. Wall built, half-tick.
All while the Washington establishment tries to sabotage his presidency and the liberal media reviles him.
He is Teflon Don, energized by a battle that would have broken a genteel Republican long ago.

I remember when McCain was the media's favorite Republican. He could do no wrong, until he got the nomination to run against Our Dear Leader the Glorious Obama, when he suddenly became just another racist, sexist, evil Republican. He was shocked. Shocked I tell you.
If Mittens were President, the democrats and their allies in the lamestream media would eat him alive regardless of what he did.

Yeah, I can see Pence as coward enough to make Romney VP if Trump is impeached leaving the door open to impeaching Pence.
Proof that he's that much of a coward is his handling of the queer from California rushing to Indiana when Pence was Governor so Pence could lead the push to repeal the law that protected the religious freedom of the people of his State.

I love the term Rollup Republican. Because before Trump that’s what the last two Republican candidates for president sure were. Romney or anyone like him will never even come close to the vote this president got in 2016. I have voted for Republican presidential candidates since 1972 when I became eligible. That has changed. I want someone who fights and cares for the common man. Just because a person running for Has an R after his name on a ballot no longer means he has my vote.
No, not stupid, among those so sure that God has chosen them for something they dreamed up (not by any means limited to Mormonism) that he knows God hitting him in the head with a 2x4 piece of oak doesn't mean, "stop it dumbazz", it has to mean, "double down".
Romney has enough money to ignore reality for a long time. There's no hope of him learning and there would be a chance of his learning if he were just stupid.

ROR would be such a more appropriate label than RINO. RINO seems to suggest that the term Conservative and Republican were somehow interchangeable.
Conservatives in the Republican Party have been a small minority for a very long time.
