I think it's far worse for the Catholic Church, because every one of our bishops knows better, has been given the grace to do better, has had more experience to understand better, and yet---- they are visibly failing the flock they are supposed to be leading. They seem intransigently stuck in a stance of "keep your head down and maybe it'll all blow over."

A "double standard" here ---- measuring them by a mor exacting measure --- is perfectly justified. We are right to expect more from them, and the failure to see that "more" in them is devastating.

I’m not interested in anyone’s opinions on this subject unless they’re super advocates of chastity. The whole problem is the idea that God or the universe “owes you” the indulgence of your genital appetite.
