In a new campaign video on Facebook, Senate Majority Mitch McConnell pitches himself as the man who can end the House's impeachment inquiry, a sign of how the chief Republican in the chamber might handle an impeachment trial should the House pass articles charging President Donald Trump with crimes.
"Nancy Pelosi is in the clutches of a left-wing mob," McConnell says directly to a camera. "They've finally convinced her to impeach the President. All of you know your Constitution. The way that impeachment stops is a Senate majority, with me as majority leader."
"But I need your help," he adds. "Please contribute before the deadline."

Cocaine Mitch is good at getting judges through and it is hard to overstate the importance of that. He is much better than any Republican majority leader I can remember. How would things have gone so far with somebody like Trent Lott in that position?
First off, nothing happens with judges until the Judiciary Committee moves them along. And what legislation do you want him to shepherd through from the communist dems in the House? What would you like him to do?

Mark Levin laid it out last evening. Mitch McConnell has the power to go “nuclear” regarding the rules of the senate allowing a simple majority to quash contrived articles of impeachment against the president.
With a simple majority, they move to vote to dismiss articles of impeachment.
I encourage all that read this, call/write your senators to urge them to urge McConnell to alter the rules of the senate to allow a simple majority vote to dismiss articles of impeachment.

There is no discovery, per se. The defense can subpoena witnesses.

The Senate (majority leader) sets the agenda of the Senate. If McConnell chose to have the Senate “rearrange its sock drawer” until 2021, who would have exactly what recourse against his (non) action - in what venue?
