From the start, the Democrats have had no basis to take any legal action against President Trump. The whole "Russia collusion" narrative was simply a means to set up a legal investigation within the DOJ that would motivate Trump to take actions that could be fabricated into an "obstruction of justice" charge.
I'm convinced the Democrats were genuinely shocked when we got to the spring of 2019 and Mueller hadn't been fired.
So they've been falling all over themselves trying to concoct various new "investigations" outside the DOJ (because William Barr, for all his flaws, is actually a real Federal prosecutor and not a useless, simpering jackass who has spent his entire career living at the expense of the taxpayers) that will serve the same purpose: to fabricate "obstruction of justice" charges for anything remotely resembling a lack of cooperation from the Trump administration.
It's been a crock of bullsh!t from the start, but the Democrats are in a position where they are forced to keep eating it ... because that's all they've got.
From a personal perspective, I can now say that as a juror I would never convict a defendant on an "obstruction of justice" charge ... because I recognize that it's just a bullsh!t Federal crime that can be made up out of thin air about anything, and seems like something you'd find in a Soviet-style police state. It's now no different than that other ludicrous "honest serves fraud" charge that can be applied to at least a half-dozen things you do in your daily life.
yep
Bottom Line: Being them sucks
All of these investigatory committees and agencies with no authority, certainly from the Constitution.
And all local governments are going this way with “Human Rights Councils” to attack private individuals and companies for saying something against homofascism.
Separate courts are being set up without the usual legislative process. And it’s all outside of our Constitution.
