Grassley Statement Regarding Intel Community Whistleblower
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) ^ | October 1, 2019 | Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa)

Posted on 10/01/2019 8:25:40 AM PDT by Cboldt

Oct 01, 2019
Butler County, Iowa - Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) made the following comments regarding the intelligence community whistleblower and related issues.

"This person appears to have followed the whistleblower protection laws and ought to be heard out and protected. We should always work to respect whistleblowers' requests for confidentiality. Any further media reports on the whistleblower's identity don't serve the public interest--even if the conflict sells more papers or attracts clicks.

"No one should be making judgments or pronouncements without hearing from the whistleblower first and carefully following up on the facts. Uninformed speculation wielded by politicians or media commentators as a partisan weapon is counterproductive and doesn't serve the country.

"When it comes to whether someone qualifies as a whistleblower, the distinctions being drawn between first- and second-hand knowledge aren't legal ones. It's just not part of whistleblower protection law or any agency policy. Complaints based on second-hand information should not be rejected out of hand, but they do require additional leg work to get at the facts and evaluate the claim's credibility.

"As I said last week, inquiries that put impeachment first and facts last don't weigh very credibly. Folks just ought to be responsible with their words."

Grassley is the chairman and co-founder of the Senate Whistleblower Protection Caucus and has authored and co-authored many of the nation's whistleblower protection laws.

Grassley is wrong. The whistleblower is given leaked material, and does not turn in the leaker.

What if one of Grassley's staffers leaked some classified stuff that Grassley was involved in. Would Grassley want the attention to be on Grassley, and the leaker be given accolades?

I know the answer to that depends on the contents of the classified action, but what does Grassley see as alarming in the Trump/Zelenskyy call?

Why does the leaker get a pass? This was stashed in the super-secret safe, ought to be more protected, not less.

The cia cuck was given secure information and leaked it. Aren’t laws being broken by the cia spy (cuck) and the traitor who gave him the secured information? That brings up the question: Is grassley a senile nitwit?

I understand that a real whistleblower must be protected. But their identity as well? Seems to me there is something unconstitutional about someone not being able to face their accuser.

That is either Jesuitical or worded very sloppily, depending upon how clever you think Grassley is. The question is not whether a complaint based on second-hand info should be “rejected out of hand” but rather whether second-hand info qualifies as “urgent” requiring special treatment (immediate transmittal to Congress...). Second, it may not be an “agency policy” but for some reason it was printed on the agency’s whistleblower form. So why was that form changed (when, by whom, as a result of what...)?

I recall being told Grassley was so pissed off at Ballsy Ford she would be “held to account.” They say Grassley is very wealthy. But Grassley has been a politician just about all his life. IOW Grassley is also one of the corrupt American Oligarchs. He’s just the GOP version.

The GOP-e Senate is clueless as always.
You are being lied to for the purpose of covering up Biden.

I am beginning to think that Biden has FBI and CIA connections keeping the Senate in check.

-- I understand that a real whistleblower must be protected. But their identity as well? --

They cannot file the complaint anonymously. They MUST be known. It is like an anonymous tip to the cops. Then the cops go and get the evidence and the cops become the accuser.

The ICIG is the one making the accusation. He is the one charged with rooting out corruption.

As the owner of a farming operation with a few hundred owned acres, Grassley’s few million net worth may be below average for those kinds of farms in Iowa.

But the cops don’t go public first?

Can you imagine being vilified in the press by allegations against you, but you don’t know who is making them. That’s just crazy.

Then where are the Senate hearings with this leaker, uh whistleblower to ascertain just how devious and elaborate a scam this is.

So he inherited a large farm? He saved up his lunch money and bought it? If we can see at a glance that Biden is corrupt over a $50,000 a month no show job while Grassley holds the title of wealthiest Senator are we being a little hypocritical? Just how clean is Grassley? Maybe he is squeaky clean, I don’t know. And yes, I am biased. I actually expected that to mean something when he essentially promised us Ford was not going to get away with it. So I ask myself just whose side Grassley is on. I suspect he is on the side of people like him. Very wealthy people.

Complaint From So-Called ‘Whistleblower’ Is Riddled With Gossip, Blatant Falsehoods
the federalist ^ | 09/28/2019 | Sean Davis / FR Posted by mplc51

The formal complaint from an anti-Trump “whistleblower” alleging various crimes by President Donald Trump is riddled with third-hand gossip and outright falsehoods. The document was declassified by Trump Wednesday evening and released to the public Thursday morning. The complaint, which was delivered to the chairmen of the House and Senate intelligence committees, follows the same template used in the infamous and debunked Clinton campaign-funded Steele dossier.

Rather than provide direct evidence that was witnessed or obtained firsthand by the complainant, the document instead combines gossip from various anonymous individuals, public media reports, and blatant misstatements of fact and law in service of a narrative that is directly contradicted by underlying facts. A footnote in the document even boasts about its use of “ample open-source (Excerpt) Read more at thefederalist.com ...

What will stop a thousand more whistleblowers from filing a complaint against Trump if it can be second hand, third hand, and fourth hand hearsay?

What is the limiting factor?

With RINOs like this in the Senate, I wonder if it comes to a vote if they won’t vote to impeach Pres. Trump.

What LSD web site says Grassley is the wealthiest senator? Are you confusing him with someone else?
