The unusual aspect of this episode is the forthright and unreserved public apology by the black girl’s parents to the boys, their families, the school, and the wider community. Racial incident hoaxes are fairly common. Contrition and a public apology are rare and commendable. It seems that in this case, the parents of a wayward student at a Christian school are themselves sincere Christians.
Agreed, the only real anger I have is for the media not reporting the correction. I went to NBC.com and there is a title saying the girl recanted, but the video was of another story about hair bias. hmmm..
Yeah, that's good but the grandparents(?) seemed awfully quick to jump the gun going to the media and cops. I didn't comment then because nothing made any sense. The girl didn't appear to have any cut hair or injuries at the time so I couldn't tell what she had to complain about anyway.
