We have friends and a relative, who pulled the plug and moved, from up and down the west coast (Seattle/Portland/SF area and San Diego.)

Lots of residents here in The People's Republik of Connecticut are moving to (sort of nearby) New Hampshire. I believe NH has no state income tax.
Also Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee.... So far I don't know anyone planning to move to Pennsylvania. PA is better than CT, NY or NJ, though.
Last one out of NY-NJ-CT, turn out the lights.
