That one-mandate gap was what he had in 2008 against Tzipi Livni, and he still got to form the coalition then, too. So many years, so little has changed, except Tzipi dwells in the back benches where she belongs. Gantz may well be a contender. I do not like the prospect of Liberman as kingmaker. But he may be needed to reach the magic number 61, and I’d much rather have a unity government than have so much hanging on the whims of a congenital opportunist.
