The Trump administration is encouraging countries across the world to stand up for the rights of unborn babies by opposing radical pro-abortion policies at the United Nations.
In a letter leaked to the Guardian and reportedly signed by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, the United States urged countries to join a growing coalition in opposing the harmful pro-abortion agenda.
The Guardian, a pro-abortion news outlet, described the letter as an attempt to rollback womens rights. But abortion appears to be the real issue of concern.
The letter criticized the United Nations for using vague language that encourages countries to promote abortion on demand.
We remain gravely concerned that aggressive efforts to reinterpret international instruments to create a new international right to abortion and to promote international policies that weaken the family have advanced through some United Nations fora, the letter stated.
The letter asked countries to join the U.S. to ensure that every nation can determine the best way to protect the unborn and defend the family as the foundational unity of society vital to children thriving and leading healthy lives.
It also expressed concerns about UN policies diminishing the role of parents in sexual and reproductive issues involving their children. It said vague phrases in global health policy documents, including sexual and reproductive health, may be interpreted to push abortion on pro-life countries.

Such phrases have been asserted to mean promotion of abortion, including pressuring countries to abandon religious principles and cultural norms enshrined in law that protect unborn life, the letter continued.
The United Nations often advocates for abortion on demand, but the Trump administration has been working against the radical pro-abortion agenda.
In 2017, Trump officials stopped funding a United Nations agency linked to forced and coerced abortions. The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) partners on family planning activities with the Chinese government agency responsible for these coercive policies, the administration said in defense of its decision. Chinas oppressive one child policy, recently changed to a two-child limit, has led to forced and coerced abortions up through nine months of pregnancy, as well as forced and coerced sterilizations.
In April, Trump officials also intervened to stop the UN from supporting abortion in a resolution to protect victims of rape.
The Trump administration has been changing national and international policies to prioritize real human rights issues, including protections for unborn babies, as well. In 2018, the State Department removed references to the so-called right to abort an unborn baby from a global human rights report.
Trump also reinstated and expanded the Mexico City Policy, which prohibits taxpayer funding to groups that promote or provide abortions overseas. The change defunded Planned Parenthoods international arm of about $100 million in U.S. tax dollars and the British-based abortion chain Marie Stopes International of about $73 million.
HOORAY Chief
Amazing person... He has the most chance of uniting the countries and people of the world, than all of them put together, the so called globalists.
One by one, they’re coming around, because they know he’s right.
If Trump were a Democrat, he’d have monuments in stone already made of him.
What kind of Constitution would the UN have as the World Government ? The opposite of the US’s ?
Our President’s speech yesterday to the UN General Assembly was truly remarkable, dynamic, courageous, and statesmanlike.
Thank GOD he is our President. Thank God for this country and for the world!
One more thing that would never have happened if NeverTrumpers had their way.
