Additionally my GGG grandfather was a soldier in the 29th VA infantry regiment. Fought in many famous battles (I won’t bore the reader by misting them here) and was 1 of 31 from the 29th to surrender with Lee at Appomattox out of original 776! If that ain’t country, I’ll kiss your ass!

I think it was Bruce Catton who wrote that the North was confident of its success when it saw the Army of Northern Virginia’s battle line towards the end of the war, and the Southern regimental flags were extremely close together.
