Airspeed is still a component of navigation, just as altitude, and heading are. There are no vacuum pump driven flight instruments on Airbus or Boeing commercial aircraft. Since you choose to Google your information, Google ATA chapter 34 Navigation, you will find pitot static system in this chapter. The ATA chapters cover all aspects of commercial aircraft, like the one this post is about. I know that every time I’ve changed a pitot probe on a Boeing and signed off the logbook, I’ve coded it under chapter 34 Navigation.

I remember that speech clear as a bell, I was watching it on TV with my brother and when GW said “religion of peace” we both looked at each other “What the hell did he just say?” utterly incredulous that he should be defending Islam when 3000 people were just murdered by Muslims. And BTW we live in New York, our cousins friend worked for Cantor Fitzgerald and died in that attack at only 25 years old, MURDERED by the “religion of peace”.
I'm wondering, who the hell hired this guy in the first place? I would be firing them promptly. No telling how many others have slipped through.
