If you are a Local, State, or Federal Officer in a Constitutional Republic you have to ask yourself the question;
“If I try to deprive an Honest Citizen of his or her GOD GIVEN rights, WILL I GO HOME TO MY FAMILY TONIGHT”.
All officers need to ask themselves if they work for the PEOPLE; or the KGB or the GESTAPO.
There are LAWFUL ORDERS and there are UNLAWFUL orders, “I WAS JUST FOLLOWING ORDERS” didn’t work at Nuremberg, and it won’t work in America.
I think that if Red Flag raids get out of hand (i.e. more than a few per week, nationwide), then people are going to start being much more alert. After all, many home invasions are done by people dressed as police (I mean actual street thugs, not the police themselves - even though many can be quite thuggish), and the Red Flag BS will be a huge opportunity for thugs to do this. Alert homeowners will tend much more to be awake, with an effective weapon within arm’s reach, and will simply shoot at someone violently coming through their door. That happens enough times to the real police (and it will), and suddenly the appetite for Red Flag raids will go way down - whether anyone in blue thinks them to be legal or not.
Of course, somewhere and at some time there will be a situation in which a Red Flag raid goes really, really wrong - wrong address, incredible brutality, both - and someone will be left alive (maybe husband on a night shift) who will come home to a dead family. Then, inevitably, one or a few of those folks will exact some revenge on either the particular individuals on the raid (or who ordered it), or just on police in general...revenge, as in torching a cop’s house with his family in it while he’s on duty and can’t do anything about it, just to even the score. Again, if that happens more than once or twice, the appetite for Red Flag raids will decline to zero, nationwide.
Confiscation is a whole other thing - that’ll be a flare going up, signifying that the war is on. Then we become Yugoslavia in the ‘90s, times 50. Everywhere.
