Will the home owner be charged with denying the crooks their right to steel things.?

Not in Metro Atlanta. Home invasions are rampant in every metro county. My friends have had two home invasions. They lived in a very affluent neighborhood. They sold their house and moved and bought guns. We sleep with our guns on the nightstands.
This is always the first assumption that cops make about a home invasion case, and the first thing that they look for during the investigation. They often find something too, but not enough to press further charges.
Then again, there are cases where a person innocent of any criminal connections gets picked out by armed robbers for an home invasion.
Either way, dead robbers are an ultimate deterrent measure.
Deputies responded about 4 a.m. Monday to a shots fired call
at the residence. When they arrived, they found the three men
with gunshot wounds. One was pronounced dead at the scene
and the other two were transported to a local hospital where
they were pronounced dead.
GA has the Castle Doctrine, so unless there is clear evidence of a crime the shooter will be fine.

A better phrasing would be “Three men shot and killed, allegedly by the homeowner...”

Even MAD magazine made fun of this about 50 years ago. A cartoon showing an assassination, the gunman shooting, and a word balloon pointing to the shooter with the words...”Alleged shooter”.

Someone will knock on the door posing as someone official or lost.
When the door is opened they push their way in.
Many elderly grew up in a different time and are unsuspecting.
