Perhaps President Trump will first explain why the U.S. has any reason to respond to an attack on Saudi Arabia.

Some people will argue that the attack threatened stability in the region. So we must respond. And thats the problem right there. A bridge gets blown up in East Pimplestan, and some people will argue that the attack threatened stability in the region. So we must respond.
Nope.
We should provide the Saudis with intelligence. But let them fire all the bullets.
Because we have a security pact/agreement with them...

It’s been a de facto US policy since the end of WWII that we would ensure the free flow of oil in the world.
Ever heard of the Carter Doctrine? Even he was willing to risk existential war to do that.
Oil flowing out of the Persian Gulf is a core, strategic US interest. And has been for at least 75 years.
Effective attack on that flow will most certainly bring substantial war. Whether you or I or anyone else likes it or not.
Looks like Freedonia is going to war! We can help Saudi Arabia in her hour of need. The Iranians have been spoiling for a fight for some time.

Quite right.
Exactly. F them.
I for one also refuse to believe that one little drone could HALVE the Saudi oil production. BS
Not a war hawk but when the price of oil jumps to $150bbl, and $4.50/gal gas, because our past “masters” in this country have blocked our own ability to extract oil from our own land and build state of the art oil refineries, there’s you answer.
