House Democrats are proposing to block President Donald Trumps aid to farmers amidst the countrys tariff fight with China, which could have a devastating impact on Americas farmers.
The Washington Post revealed Thursday that it has reviewed a draft of a bill written by House Appropriations Committee Chair Nita Lowey (D-NY) that would block Trumps ability to help farmers while the country fights Chinas unfair trade practices.
House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said in a tweet Thursday that Democrats are trying to squeeze American farmers by blocking this aid.
Farming is hard enough work as it is. But now Democrats are trying to squeeze American farmers even more by blocking a program that helps them withstand Chinas unfair trade policies, said McCarthy. Weve got to start putting America first!

Trump has pushed for billions of dollars to help offset the cost of the tariff fight.
The Agriculture Department plans to spend $28 billion over two years; however, the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) has a $30 billion cap that it will likely hit this year. This means that it will fall upon Congres to help mitigate the cost of Americas tariff fight with China.
However, Lowey left out Trumps request that would allow them to avert the spending cap through the CCC.
In September, the Trump administration sent a letter to Congress asking for changes that would increase how much money it could use through the CCC to help farmers.
The Trump administration warned lawmakers in the letter that if Congress does not provide additional funding in time, the CCC would have to stop making payments . . . posing a serious risk for the farmers and ranchers supported by these programs.
That shook some cobwebs. Had a great uncle who farmed in LA (Lower Alabama) who passed away before I was born. Surviving family members, all DemonRats, would tell stories of him being hopping mad at FDR's agricultural commodity quotas during the Great Depression. Wish I had known him.
They’re certainly showing they are and fast growing to be far beyond representatives of US peoples.....rather enemies working within our country.
So Dems are backing China?
Doesn’t everyone know?
Yeah, the ‘rats turned into Libertarians so fast I didn’t notice.
Not necessarily. FL...PA...and MI could be flipped.
The House proposes. The Senate disposes.
Trump needs to mention this at every rally until Election Day.
Don’t some Democrats prefer the phrase: “Death to America!”?
Or is that just their paymasters?
Farmers have it bad enough these days and the suicide rate among them is VERY high because of all the financial pressure on them.
They can hardly make any money.
I don’t know what the dems think they are going to do for food when they drive enough farmers out of business. Soylent Green or something?
Farmers need to fend for themselves.
Do illegal aliens “need to fend for themselves” ?
Great idea Dems: go on the record as anti-Farmer and also deliberately try to bankrupt tens of thousands of farmers and their families just to prove how much you hate Trump ... who do you think the farmers will blame if you do that, anyway? Trump who is trying to get a relief bill passed for the farmers or you who are deliberately trying to destroy farmers?
